Cheyenne, The former maxi sailing cat, is no longer what it once was. From what we know Steve Fossett and crew are going to use it as a submarine launching pad for research and whatever projects Fossett may have. They have built the pad for the sub in the center of the catamaran. Not sure where they're going to take it, but it's supposed to be pretty long range. Apparently it will be for hire for governments and organizations to rent it. Here it is about to splash in Dago after a very long retrofit at Driscoll's.

Looks like its sailing days are done. I'm glad I was able to see this magnficent machine in person one time down at Norfolk while it was still a sailing catamaran.

I got a good look at it when it pulled in to Palm Beach after some damage it sustained. It really dwarfed everything else in the marina.

That, and the mast rake made it look like the thing was going to fall over...
