Less than 2 weeks till the 3rd F16 Global Challenge.

I am not even a little ready boat or sailing wise, but am more than ready to be sitting in Gulfport enjoying some fun and Rum for a week. grin

I have not seen the GYC page updated for a while, but it looks like we are expecting a very good turnout with those listed and others who are on track to attend. Timbo, you get your training times worked out? There are probably some local and relatively local boats still around.

Who else is hiding in the woodwork?

No news from the FAA for me yet, they said it would be..."a few weeks" a week ago, so I've still got to wait for a while until they know what to do with me...

I'm getting the boat ready, wash and wax, double check everything, tape everything, etc. this week, Andi arrives on Nov. 7th. See ya!

You will be gracing us with your presence for at least a few of the days - no?, as you should not have any more class rooms to decorate.

Did you make it to Tulsa yet?

Went to Tulsa last Monday, Doc. there said I'm good to go and will be writing a report to the FAA saying same. The FAA has a 7 member Medical Board who will review my case...when they get to it...and decide.

The Doc in Tulsa is their number 1 neurologist consultant so his word caries a lot of weight, which is why you have to pay him $500 up front, but the 7 member board makes the final decision and they have a backlog of cases, so it may be a few weeks before they even see my paperwork.

We originally had two but are now three. One Blade, One Taipan and one Fighting Falcon. I wish we could figure out a way to triple stack. Ed

Still hazey after all these beers.

Among others, that would be me !

I had really hoped to be there in Gulfport this time and I'm seriously disappointed that the planets did not align themselves in time for me.

I won't be coming and won't be making a surprise visit as a volunteer (bouy boy) either (my last hope).

It sounds like a great event to be at and a great location and with AHPC putting up 10 charter boats I was robbed of that excuse as well ! =)

Finances was the problem point that killed it for me. I got a enough to cover food, drink and housing till X-mas then it is ... well you'll understand. This is no time to take risks with the money that is left with the economy only slowly picking up.

I wish you all the very best weather and enjoyment and I hope some angel will find the time to do a write up of the event each day. I'll be looking for that like a crack addict for dope.

Best regards,

Wouter

Do a traditional double stack for the first two and then break the third boat down. With three crews available it shouldn't take long to put it back together.

Yeah. I'm starting to think along those lines. It sure would be good to have the three of us ride together instead of taking two tow rigs. We did 8 A Cats one time on a custom trailer from here to the Fl Keys. That was an adventure that I didn't have to work too hard to forget. Ed

My back is still on the mend, but so far so good.

What's the current boat count?
