I'm picking up a new Wave next Saturday. Hobie sells a spinnaker kit for the Wave.
Does anybody have experience with this rig? I sail mostly on a lake in Massachusetts. I will be racing with handicap in a small fleet with 1 to 3 Cats and 5 to 10 monohulls.

Don't bother with the spin option. Several of us have tried it and it doesn't work.
I have been doing some R&D and have found a furling spinnaker (Hooter) system that does work and have won two major distance races with the Beta version.
Presently, we are getting pricing to see what the cost of the whole kit will be, and after that will be offering it for sale -- trying to keep the price decent as well.
It can be used upwind as well and makes the boat about the same speed as a Hobie 16
