On the 2nd photo, have a look at the mast

I would hazard the guess that Christa is the Biscuits... because Brett is absolutely Crackers.

Holy crooked mast BATMAN!!!!!!!

You know what's amazing, that the only way these masts have broken is from the mainsheet coming uncleated downwind in a breeze with the spinnaker or the spreader arms were knocked out of whack from a capsize or something.

Take a look at the cross section next time you see the inside of the extrusion. There are four longitudinal ribs (vs two in the F18 extrusion). Those masts are surprisingly tough.

The 2nd day raced in a lot of wind and again single handers are again not in favor. Today it is going to look a bit less wind. We willsee at the end of the day.

I'm a bit surprised myself, but here I am cheering Hans on !

I know him to be a skilled catamaran racer and it just isn't right to see such a person anywhere but near the top of the board.

From what I've seen, the Aquaraptor F16 design on which Hans has spend so much time developing (instead of training), is deserving of some high placings and some of the spot light.

So :

I wonder who came in behind 4th in race 7, after 3rd in race 8 and after 6th in race 9.

I'm guessing they weren't Viper crews, but that isn't telling much as I'm more interested in the persons anyway.


I'm also interested in the mano-a-mano in singlehanded land. Some of those guys must be working their butts off in 15-20 knots of wind considering that Bundy is twittering that being in front is hard work !

It is also good to see Paul Warren and Ann Powter finding their footing and moving up the ranks since race 5 and 6 (two 3rd places). I really wonder if they are able to sustain this trend today in races 7, 8 and 9.

There simply must be a great human interest story there.

It was a bit lighter today but still very exciting racing. Paul & Ann and we are in a draw for 7th place right now, wow that will be awesome tomorrow :-) There is still alot possible with the top 5 points being very close to each other and places 7 to 10 are also close. This is how it should always be, exciting to the end.

The Formula 16 website has been updated with the top 10 results.

We'll write a story on our blog tonight. But first: we have a dinner offered by the club, looking forward to that. After every race they also treat us to some food and drinks (pasta or fruit, beer and sodas), and that's really nice.
