Though this is not sailing related, no doubt many of you have an opinion on this matter. I am trying to find the best place to get thirty or forty potters (that's right, potters) together for drinks and lying in tampa this march. Could use a good recommendation.

Does Woody still have that place near the stadium? I'm thinking of the place that hosted a party for the H20 NAs back in 2001.

Great place for sailors to hang out. We even got to watch a video of Tiger Worlds in Europe.

depends on what kinda bar you want.. there lots of choices.
I like:
the hub in down town
hyde park cafe in hyde park
in ybor (near downtown) there are 100's of bars on the 2 main streets. your choice of club and its kind fun to walk up and down from bar to bar, esp with 40 ... potters (whatever that is)

What's a Potter????

So many good bars in Tampa. What are you looking for? Fancy? Casual? Outside, inside? Food? Music?

One of my favorites is Ricks on the River. Outdoor place onthe water, real casual, often frequented by the bikers. Live music, full liquor, ok food (bar food).

what's a potter? Someone who makes pots, out of clay. Tampa is hosting a conference where 20,000 potters will all talk about pots and then get drunk.

At least they have something to keep all their liquor in.

anyone heard of fly bar? Or MJ's?

I have heard of Fly Bar. It's a relatively new upscale joint. The fancy people in Tampa hang out there. I don't even know where it is.

I have not heard of the other place.

My favorite "bar" was the free beer tent at Busch Gardens, but I guess that's a thing of the past (Thanks In-Bev )

If we're talking out of tamps...

i personally like the tiki hut in dunedin for sunsets (and catamarans playing in old clearwater bay) on the gulf, eddies across the street for beer wing and pool, clearwater beach frenchie's for she crab soup or the palm pavilion across the parking lot for dolphin watching in the gulf off sunset
