Has anybody done this?

The Getaway wings cost a bit more than the Wave backrests, but being able to sit on the wings would seem to be worth the extra money and fabrication.

I'm thinking that the cross members are of the same extrusion so the end caps should work as is.

It appears that the length of the wings can be shortened with a chop saw and rivets and that the covers could be shortened by an awning shop or one end tucked under to ensure a finished appearance.

The leg tension assemblies would still need fabricated attachment points, but that wouldn’t seem too bad since the load would be mostly shear.

Any thoughts from someone else who has attempted or even thought about doing this would be much appreciated.
