Wanting something a bit zippier than my Wave, I'm looking at a 14 turbo.
Question: Is this enough hull volume to carry two full sized adults ( combined weight about 300 lbs) and still have fun? Are there any other factors to consider here?
I'd go with a 16, but most folks seem to think they are too pitch sensitive.

my regular crew and i weigh 275 and we had great fun on my turbo- in fact our first date was a beautiful december sail on it. we now have a 16, much better for 2 up. the 14 is more prone to pitchpoling because of the smaller hulls. i love my 14 but the 16 is better, faster, more versatile.

You woudn't have happen to be at Kelly Park this weekend were you?

I have a classic 14 that has about a max crew weight (for cruising) of ~400 pounds. It moves along, but is pretty slow. I've sailed a friend's turbo 14 with close to 400 lbs in a "very" stiff wind and we were moving. Got a hull up (not very high) before we pitch-poled over during a tack. Have to be very careful of weight distribution on the 14. On that same turbo 14, I've put 3 people on it (~550 lbs) and was able to sail up and down the river on a light wind day.

Yes, my wife and I sailed at Kelly Park on Saturday, and returned Sunday, but didn't unload the boat due to the Hobie race which just started, and the windsurfing race which was about to start. Too much traffic!
We're REALLY new at this sailing, but thought we'd be able to go MUCH faster in even light air than we actually can.
She is getting quite bored just being a passenger, but doesn't know anything about running the boat as yet. We're both scheduled to take the Red Cross basic sailing class through the Titusville Y.C. next month. I had rented a Wave a couple of times before we bought this one. I've also been doing a lot of reading on the tech side of sailing, so I'm a bit further along than she currently is.
I've considered getting the furling screacher setup to make my boat a "Super Wave", but you can buy most good used H16's for less than what that setup costs, so I don't know if that makes sense.
I've gone so far as to post the Wave for sale already.
If we don't have some VERY different ( read: EXCITING!) experiences with the sailing bit SOON, I'm afraid we're going to be "boredom dropouts"!
I figure that if we got a 14 Turbo, or, as the advice seems to be leading me, a 16, she could trap and run the jib, or take the helm, and we'd both get more physical involvement, plus ( I would assume! ) quite a bit more speed, not to mention going swimming more often!
We're beginning to cast an eye at windsurfing as a possible alternative.
All advice gratefully considered!
