Hi Everyone,

I've been having some trouble with the rudder on my boat not locking down into place. I dismantled it and re-assembled it and it worked for a couple of trips but then stopped again. I've bought all the new bits for it but was wondering if I should grease the spring when I put it into the rudder housing. So a) should I grease it and b) what grease should I use.

Regards, Tim

Grease atracts dirt, salt and makes it worse. Spray regularly with McLube.
Take it apart, and if the plunger is not smooth, replace it. If rough it will always mess up.
