There has been a lot of discussion about the demise of regattas. There is a new one next weekend on Lake Wateree South Carolina. It is posted on the EMSA site and would be great to see some support for someone willing to go to the work to pull this off. This would be a great place for the Hobies and "dead boats" to show up, as well as out usual group of traveling F16, F18, and A Cats. Come support the sport. Rick

We've got 10 boats coming so far, a few H16's, F16's, F18's, A Cats and maybe a SC20 if my sails ever come in...

I had heard about this regatta on Wateree. Unfortunately, that weekend didn't work for me this year. I hope this becomes an annual thing. I'm definitely interested for next year.

This wound up being a great event at a great location. Lots of room for rigging and camping. We also got to enjoy some pretty good conditions for lake sailing.

Most of all, I don't think the sailing club could have been any more welcoming or happier to see us. They and Mac also made sure that no know had an empty belly at any time! I will be back and would encourage anyone in the area to put it on their calendars for next year.

It was a great place to sail...a hidden gem that we didn't know existed. Nice launch beach and a big body of water to sail. The beach guys will probably groan a little about the shifty nature of the breeze but I like the added challenge and the shifts and pressures were really visible (except for that last race on Saturday).

Results should hopefully be posted on EMSA-sailing.org today.
