I looked up Geert at the Ronde Tiengemeente Regatta where he sailed his Taipan 4.9 with the 17 sq. mtr. genaker.

I chatted a little bit with him after the race and asked him how he felt things went. He said that he felt up to speed with the F18's around him, admittedly he came in just behind the middle of the pack but he said that he felt comfortable with that taking into account the total time on the boat with the genaker. He didn't felt rolled by the F18's like with the larger iF20's so to say.

End results on elapsed time are not available yet but the first finishers were. Tornado sport, Inter 20, Hobie Fox, A-cat, Hobie FOX, Tornado sport, Inter 20, and then the bunch started to roll inwith alot of A-cat a high standings.

Weather light to medium with sometimes big gusts. Course : distance race with mainlya beat and a genaker (broad) reach.

First in Torndao sport 3 hours
First F18 3 hours and just less of 15
Taipan F16 HP 3 hours and about 35 minutes.
Last F18 about 3 hours 45 minutes.

There were quite a few Tornado sports and this fleet as the IF20's and F18 fleets contained quite a few professional crews.

Mind you guys those new Tornado's are a pleasure to look at, all those new things on them.

Geert sailed with crew at 145 kg's.
