Developed in Toulon by Hobie Cat Europe, the Hobie Cat Fox was designed to be competitive in F-20 class racing. Presented at the latest Paris Boat Shows, the Fox also participated in the ISAF assessment trials for catamaran series in the Olympic Games as a possible replacement for the Tornado.

The revolutionary design of the hulls is by Nils Bunkenburg, the World Champion on Class A. Either you like it or you don’t, but, in terms of performance, this type of hull has proven its worth, particularly in the Worrell 1000 and Class A.

At Hobie, the final stages of development of the craft were entrusted to one of the finest in-house racers, M. Booth: a further guarantee of fine quality.

Equipped with a double trapeze, an asymmetric spinnaker, high-performance centerboards, streamlined rudder blades, the Hobie Fox has integrated the latest technological advances developed for the ISAF class Hobie Tiger. Finally, with her 190-kg displacement, the Fox can easily be moved on the road.

The (very well made) sails are fashioned by the Olympic Champion Giorgio Zuccoli.

With such prestigious names (Hobie Cat, Bunkenburg, Zuccoli, Booth, etc.) associated with its design, the Hobie Fox could not fail! This is proven in her first racing results (Gavin Colby just won the East Coast Piers Race (UK) on his Fox last July ahead of 94 boats). We’ll be checking this out very soon in a complete test in Multihulls World.
