Am considering purchasing the low profile blocks for my older H16. Factory comes with 2 1/4" I know. But while the 3" blocks are more expensive, is there an advantage to them (other than larger line that can move more freely through the blocks?). Or...are they a bit large for the 16, eliminating the advantage of low profile when raking the mast?

Thanks!

Smaller is better these days. There is no need for 3" main blocks on a H16. 2 1/4" blocks give lower profile/better stack up, are less expensive and work well with a stock 3/8" dacron sheet. Even better is to downsize to a 5/16" spectra/polypro main sheet. If you really want to go crazy ($$) go to 40mm or 50mm carbon blocks with spectra/polypro or other "high tech" main sheet.
