I need to change my tramp for the first time. Do I need to de-mast to get the side-stays out of the way to slide rope-bolt through front cross bar, or can this be done easily with stays in place? All advice is appreciated.

What kind of boat are you talking about.

I had no problem changing mine out on my H20 with the mast up.

Mike Hill
H20 #791

I suppose the boat type would play a large role in the answer to this question. There's no way you could do this on a Nacra 5.2 with the stick up.

[color:blue][b]Jake
[color:blue][b]Nacra 5.2 (2112)
[color:blue][b]Hobie 18 (mutt)

I did it on the 5.0 I used to have, but it involved a drill and a grinder. Just make a little groove.
But Jake's right, if it's a Nacra that you are interested in keeping whole, you gotta take the beam off.
Michael

Thank you for all your resposes. I guess it would have helped if I indicated boat. Duuh. Prindle 18 - Based on JGraves' experience, I'll give it a try with mast up. Thanks.
