I have just recently purchased a set of One-Piece Gudgeons. I cleaned and sanded the tails and was getting ready to screw the new ones on when I found that the holes don't line up. Is it possible to use the new one-piece gudgeons on a 1976 H-16? Or should I just use the old ones and try to shim up any slop.

I always fill in the old holes (I sell a lot of used H16's) and drill new holes for the new one piece gudgeons. You can shim up the old ones but your not going to get the same stiff feel as with the new one piece gudgeons. Still to some filling in the holes for new gudgeons is not worth the work but I feel it is. Cheers.
