With the forum crash of two weeks ago we lost a couple of important threads and discussions with it. One of those dealed with the de choosing of our class organisation logo.

I would like to revive this discussion at this time. We can't wait to long. The start-up is almost over and soon we'll have to build the class to greater numbers. A banner to rally behind will help.

Now as discussed before : each design can keep her own one-design logo ; a Taipan will remain a Taipan, a stealth will remain a Stealth and so too will the Bim F16 and the Spitfire.

The logo that we will decide upon will be the logo for the organsation, the webpage, the measurement certificates, and possibly for the one-off designs which may have no design logo of their own.

Nigel Fuller was very willing to help us. He can draw much better than me !!

in the conversation I had with him I ask if he could design a relatively simple contour logo for our class which would express a clearly indentifiable aspect of the fox. Remember the comparisson I made between the F16 class and Fox as an animal ?

I will quickly summerize :

Aspects associated with a Fox

- Cunningness

- Agility

- Lightweight

- Playfullness

- Stealthy

- Sharp

In my next two posts I will first give the original made by Nigel Fuller and than a modified version.

Right after that in that thread I will repost the logo's that have been proposed by the others in the group.

Sadly I don't have all of them, so if yours isn't place in the thread can you repost it yourself.

On all of these logo I would like to see you comments either good or bad.

With these comments we can fine tune the logo's and finally decide (in a seconf vote) which one shall be THE ONE.

Please participate, also would be or just interested posters. You are all welcome.

I played around a bit and found that I had a better feel for speed without the green symbole for the family group.

So here goes.

An very nice logo in my opinion and In my opinion very usable when a larger drawn logo isn't applicable.

If a picture logo is chosen than I would like to see this logo to be chosen as the official font and style to write the class name. Compare this to a secondary logo like the four colour window drawing of Microsoft windows and the styled character string of the name Microsoft itself.

Finally I’m back…I have been locked out ever since the forum took a dump! Kirt…If you are reading this, I finally got back on by re-registering again. I don’t know why it took this time and not the other several times I tried… but it did…you may want to try again yourself…your input is critical here…

Back to the business at hand…My vote would have to be for John Pierce’s Logo…like it has been pointed out in the past…His logo is straight forward, clean, simple, easily identified, easily reproduced and it does not clash with any of the manufactures logos…Wouter you might want to save the Fox Logo as your personal ID…I am going to use the Falcon Logo to identify my own personal design if the class doesn’t want to use it. The F 16 HP class can have if they want it, but if not I will use it on my own boat...My 2 cents.

Peace
