We go out on Lake Ontario all the time.. Been out there a few times in 6-8' waves.. The best time is just after a big wind when the waves are still large but the wind is 10-15knots.. Lots of fun surfing. You have to make sure that your boat is solid, and if you do a lake crossing (which we do occasionally) that you go with other people. Its always a good idea to bring a cell phone or vhf, and tell people that you are going out..so that they know to look for you if you don't come back.

Customs will be more interested in the trailer than the boat. For the boat the title is best, if not a bill of sale. Paper work for the trailer is nice but I did bring mine across with nothing, but it does make it a slow painful process..

Very interested to find your forum. Had a Mystere 17 about 18 years ago here in Auckland, NZ and sold it after breaking my collarbone 2x cycling [should have sold the bike!]. It looked just like the red boat the man from Wales was selling - more like a Hydra than Prindle. Probably only 20 or so were made here - the Hobie 16 was the favourite. Would like my old Mystere back as a great single hander on the wire.

there was one on the catalist.com in Canada I believe. This boat is about 17ft and is very reminiscant of the Tornado in hull shape. Trickle down effect from the Sailcraft to Mystere possibly! Welcome to the forum..
