The new boat looks like a solo cherub or smaller version of the solo NS14?

It actually has been designed by Rod Jones from scratch on computer to match the chiteria we set. 14 foot dinghy and NS14 were amongst the boats Rod looked at while researching the project. length is 3.6m or 12 foot.

Your specs seem to match the base Spenser's Cherub class. Farr if I recall designed a 12 footer solo boat based on his then current Cherub hull.. Solo wing masted but with trap..

Good luck.. ps if it looks like taking off.. watch out for a 19er or 39er!!

Nice boat ! [Re: Stewart] #6496

I especially like the timber home-build option. But that would be logical.

Jim, what kind of mast does the little rocket have ? A fixed round section or a rotating wingmast ?

It does have a rotating wingmast. Cool, that will be different from all the other skiffs out there, which typically have round sections and the resulting seperation bubble.

Mg14, NS14 and the Farr 3.6 all generally have wing masts.. In the 70s Cherubs flirted with wing masts mainly with the bethwaite cedar & balsa mast.. This devloped into the tasars semi wing rig.. Recently Alex Vallings has devloped a wing for his 12 foot skiff..
