The Lahaina Yacht Club will support multihull racing in 2006 by giving them their own start at all their regattas. The schedule isn't posted yet but once it is, the dates can be seen at http://lahainayachtclub.org/.

I'm trying to contact the Maui Boat and Yacht Club to see if they'll do the same.

So far it looks like two Corsair 27s and me on a Hobie 20. Ya gotta start somewhere.

The Maui Boat & Yacht Club http://www.mauisailingnews.com/ has also said they'll have multihull starts. Their first regatta of the year will be held March 4 & 5.

Hey Mike thanks for the info.
We race the first Saturday of each month in the south end of Kaneohe Bay.
We can get anywhere from 2 to 16 boats on the course.
Mostly Hobie 20's (there's 7 if everyone shows) a few 16's, one 18, one Fox, one NACRA 6.0NA and one Prindle 19.
We all race the same course (windward/leewards)and start the boats by their portsmouth rating, or at least get close to the correct starting gaps. So who ever finishes first, gets first.
If you are ever on Oahu the first Saturday of the month give me a jingle cell.(808)864-6067 we'll get you hooked up on a boat.
Later, Dan

Dan,

Thanks for the invite. If the Super Ferry ever gets off the ground I might show up with my boat.
