For only a week and a half! You cant get rid of me that easy.

Starting tomorow April 21st. I will pick up Jaime around 3pm at the airport. We will then head to the beach rig up and sail out as much as posible. Saturday morning starting at 8am we have a "roughly" 42 mile race down the coast of South FL. We are participating in the Miami to Key Largo race. This race is an open fleet mix of MONO slugs along with beach cats. There are around 140 vessels registered. Maybe 40 or so cats. Give or take. Among those is the ARC 30 which is a MONSTER of a cat.

After which as soon as we land at Key Largo we will have to de-rig and take the boat further south to Isla Morada. Sunday afternoon both Myself and Jaime will start Rick Whites sailing seminar. This seminar runs from Sunday through Friday. GONNA BE A LONG WEEK!

After the seminar is done, we will de-rig the boat again, then take her up north to Key Largo because saturday morning we start our first leg of the HOGSBREATH 100. Which is a 100 mile race from Key Largo to Key West.

So all in all, around 150 miles of racing plus the entire week of the sailing seminar. It will be extremely interesting, tiring and fun.

The weather should be great, have a ball and take lots of pictures!

Pete and Robi: While at the seminar, can you ask Rick to elaborate on steering technique while going to windward? Flat water is no big issue, but what is the best way to helm a catamaran in diverse chop conditions and different waves. This is something I have not been able to find any meaningful and to the point written information on. I suspect that the general dinghy helming techniques need to be adapted to the increased speed and slimmer/longer hulls. Would be great to hear what he has to say on the topic
