Last year we held our first Spinnaker Mozzie States as part of the F16 State Challenge at Loch Sport.
This year the F16 State Challenge will be at the Sauna Sail (LVYC - Hazelwood Pondage), so I suggest we do the same thing again. This means the Mozzies get a crack at two Titles <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
If all goes well there will be enough spinnakered Mosquitos and Taipans (and Gary's "Altered") to get an F16 division - it's looking promising.

see you there. Remember when you look at the forecast, the water will be warmer and the windier it gets the wetter you get, helping to keep you warm? I know all you Mossies would rather have wind than sunshine.
Don't forget to make it clear you are sailing with spinnaker when you enter, if we get 10 entered Sat. we can have our own division of F16's including Mossies with Spinnakers.
I'm just pushing this thread to the top again to remind everyone that the Sauna Sail is in two days time.
Here's the schedule (warning signal times):
Race 1 Saturday 10 June 12:55 Race 2 Saturday 10 June As soon as practicable after the finish of race 1. Race 3 Sunday 11 June 09:55 Race 4 Sunday 11 June 12:55 Race 5 Sunday 11 June As soon as practicable after the finish of race 4. Race 6 Monday 12 June 09:55
Prizes are given out every day for every race so you don't have to do the whole weekend. It's good to get a good turnout on Saturday though so we can get a division. Camping is right by the clubhouse and there's always a good crowd of Mozzies around the camp fire. See you there.

Do you have a report and results from the weekends racing either for posting here or on the Mosquito website ? Awaiting eagerly for some news. Sorry, I know it's only Tuesday.
Eventually. I have some photos but am a bit busy right now.
It was a brilliant weekend though. Each day we went out in a fairly pathetic breeze and every time it filled in for the race. On Saturday afternoon we had a 180 degree shift before our start as the wind strengthened to 15 knots or more. 17 spinnakered cats doing a downwind start? Insane. Yet no-one got holed!. Then they recalled us and made us do it over again!
Finished on Monday with a race stacked with great downwind blasts. What a weekend! Sore arms and shoulders all round (and one poor F18 skipper in particular with shredded hands).

I know that the voices in my head aint real, but they have some pretty good ideas. There is no such thing as a quick fix and I've never had free lunch!
Tim, I agree. That one is worth blowing up and hanging like a work of art. Regrds, Phill

That's Rohan Veal on his foiler moth in front of Gary. We all had fun chasing him downwind. An F16/Mozzie under spinnaker is not far off the pace of a fully foiling moth and can sometimes even have the edge. The F16/Mozzie is no competition upwind though. This is him going upwind at the Sauna Sail:
