My eldest son (age 20) is travelling out to Santa Cruz in September on a 1 year University Exchange placement. He will be studying Biology and living on campus. However, in his offtime he'll be looking for opportunities to sail cats or go windsurfing. When it comes to racing, he's an excellent crew and a very handy helm.

Does anyone know what there is around, is there a club in the area? Would anyone be prepared to introduce him to likeminded souls in Santa Cruz?

Jeremy at Surf City is an excellent dealer and a real nice guy to boot. He should be able to hook your son up with any number of cat sailors.

Yes, Jeremy is a cool dude. He has a store next to the harbor. It's about 100 feet away from the Crow's Nest restaurant.

John ,

I sail out of Santa Cruz and have friends and colleagues that live in town. Your son is in for a tremendous experience - top notch Bio. department, really cool town and LOTs of sailing (Acats , 505's, leadminers ) out of the SCYC !

I've PMed my home info.

Dang, You guys flatter me!!! Thanks!!!
Hey John, We'll definitely be able to get your son out on the water. We've got a great group of sailors in town. You name the kind of boat he wants to sail and we'll see what we can do! Have him call me anytime.
