Hi all,

appreciate you keeping this thread on the front page. <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

But what has Edmonton got to do with "Altered" being For Sale <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />?

I am guessing there is something strange going on in the F16 Forum. <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" />

Regards Gary. <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Hey, don't complain -- as long as there is conversation here, you are continuing to get publicity. And nobody should feel bad about hijacking this thread, since it is totally not kosher to advertise boats for sale on the forums. <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />

I don't know why Stewart and Bobcat started talking about Edmonton, but since they did, I really am curious about Bobcat's statement that there is no cat activity up there any more.

It certainly is relevant to the F16 Class, because if Bobcat is the only F16 up there, that Edmonton area would be perfect for developing a fleet. Most of the former cat sailors in that area seemed to be into singlehanded boats, and those inland lakes in western Canada are perfect for the F16.

Maybe Bruce could become a dealer. <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Sorry Gary, something is going on. Those of us way up north are looking at another winter. The DT's are setting in. Therefore hijacks happen. I felt that it would of been rude to not answer Stewart, yet worse to start a new thread on the conversation. I suppose a PM should have been the proper course of action.

Now, do I answer Mary or not? Here goes nothing. 15 years ago was the heydey of the Tornado fleet here. By the time I started in 1994, it was already waning. There are still 3 of these old-school T's on the beach, but I think I raced against only 1 of them and that was on 1 day.
The Unicorn guy you are thinking about is probably Dick Harper. He was a fantastic inspiration, but was forced to quit due to his arthritis. He was in his late 80's at the time. Another Unicorn does come out on the race course but I usually don't see him after the start line (unless I'm looking back for some reason). He bought new plywood hulls this year and may become more competitive.

There are some sea-sprays still but they don't come to the race course at all.

Al Schuster (on these forums) has an old-school T on this lake. We PM'd early this year but were never able to get together. There was a guy who bought a Nacra F18 last year. I talked to the Nacra dealer and asked him to forward my number. The F18 didn't call. I haven't seen him on the lake although he would be at the opposite end.

I have heard about the Nacra fleet at Mameo. A bunch of cottage owners loosely organized. It is on my to-do list to try to get invited there.

I am building a trailer this winter and do hope to take the F16 to some other lakes. I have been invited down to California, but seeing as how I haven't ever trailered farther than 50 miles, I am going to do this in baby-steps.

Now back to your regularly scheduled programing.
Have you heard? Altered is for sale! <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />

As they would say in Scuttlebutt, "This thread is officially dead."

So can we look forward to sailing with you in '07?

Hi Mary,

my apologies I didn't realise that it was not kosher to put boats for sale on this forum, my mistake.

Should I have read that somewhere?

Lets talk in '07 about '08.

To tell the truth, I don't want to drive all that way to have my 'donkey' handed to me. I know there is a lot I don't know (I was at Tradewinds in January). It would be better for me to drive there on a non-regatta type weekend when you people would have some time for me. Just as an example, I haven't trapezed under spinnaker yet. Baby steps.

Bobcat,

If you want some training and do not want to go all the way to Cal, come down to Portland Oregon and we can work on your technique.
