Defending champs, Greg and Jacques did the ISAF Worlds, F18 Worlds and the Tiger Worlds all in Europe this year. I think they were burned out a bit, let alone we have been missing them in the office here.

Greg and Jacques have taken too much time this year in their sailing endevours, as I understand it, and could not get the time to do the NAs.

I think that Alex is caught up in work. He also had some time off for the Worlds that set him a bit back on his schedule. Nigel was looking for a crew as late as a week before the event. I guess he, like I, came up short a crew and could not make it.

Later,
Dan

Dan, I wondered why I didn't see you on the list. I guess time in Europe ate up vacation time for your crew. So far it looks like a great race.

Yeah the time in Europe and we were due for a new car. $$$ are flying out of our lives. Wish I could think about a new boat but....

It seems like a fine time, at Lake Carlyle, while looking at the posts. I wonder what the sailors that do not sail lakes in light to moderate wind are thinking? I would be one of those. I think that the folks you mentioned, Greg/Jacques and Nigel/Alex would be great to have that this event as they are all so good at lake sailing.

Later,
Dan

Wed was light, Tuesday was 20+ with gusts close to 30. 6 races, 6 laps each. I'm too tired to type...

As an aside...It looks like dagger boards are being placed farther and farther back.. Whatever happened to "shared lift" concept?

Hobie Tiger. It is the 4th one he's owned - hence the sail number. Top placed Tiger I think...

The pictures show #4 is a Tiger.

Tomko sailed a Tiger in the Great Texas 300 and in Ruff Rider regatta last month, so I expect it's a Tiger.

Thought some might be interested to know the types/numbers of boats that are there. I think I got it right. If you see a problem let me know.

Dan,

I went through the videos and pictures and these are different from your listing:

572 is an Infusion instead of Nacra F18
585 is an Infusion instead of Nacra F18
930 is a Nacra F18 instead of a Tiger

Tom:

Because I am not there I am very curious about the goings on at the event so I am paying too close attention to it...maybe.

Sparky:

Before I change this I would like to make a couple of points and bounce them off you.

As far a Dan Paoli, I was wondering why his sail would be in the 900s if he is on an Nacra F18? The highest numbers from Performance on their boats are in the 600s. I could not find a picture of him and had to make an assumption his boat is a Tiger.

As for the Infusion suggestions. There are two pictures that I have attached that are Nacra F18s and are very close numbers to the ones you mentioned. Actually one of your numbers is lower. Also I think that David Lennard had one of the first three Infustions in the US and his number is 590. If he had the highest number, of those three, then the lowest number would be 588.

I am not saying you are not right as I cannot prove or disprove at this point. I am just making suppositions about these numbers. What do you think?

Nacra F18 #930 is a 2005 with sails from a Ullman Loft.
Nacra F18 #572 is an Infusion, only guess why they back filled the number. I believe there's a picture posted of #572

Dan,

TedZ has it right about 930 based on what I have heard. I was also surprised by the sail numbers on some of the Nacras. I spent WAY TOO MUCH TIME looking at the videos and pictures from the event, but deliberately listed each boat I saw the sail number on and what it was, for my own information. Of all the boats listed in the results, I saw every sail number except 1328 and 1706. I think they are Tigers, but I may be mistaken.
