A 1997 Ford F250 extended-cab long wheelbase PowerStroke diesel truck. Which I do need to tow the F27GS.

That said, my daily driver was a v6 Ford Ranger until it literally was blown away.

I'm now looking to replace my little gas truck with a little diesel truck.

They can't be found, I'm having the devil of a time. It's my dream to have an all-Diesel stable, such that we can cook up our own biodiesel (easier than y'all think) and tell people with mindsets like the US folks posting here to kiss our butts.

BTW, husband works in the oilfield.

Y'all have absolutely NO idea just how filthily conspicuously consumptive the oil industry is. It's embarrassing, even though it's a great living for us. At least I can go to sleep with a clear conscience knowing that I've done a little to help.

For the children of tomorrow will surely be cursing those with the conspicuous-consumption mindset that I've seen exhibited in this thread. Please, those elsewhere in the world, do NOT think that all US shares the beliefs elicited by a few of the vocal here at this BBS.

Gore may be a ya-ya, but his message is sound. In fact, 'Inconvenient Truth' sounds like most of the lectures I had at college. Sorry y'all, but the news is truly bad. But hey, I didn't breed. It's YOUR children who will suffer, not mine...

What are you going to do with all the glycerine left over from your biodiesel?

Don't need to worry about knocking the glycerine off if a. install a preheater or b.use two tanks, one with reg. diesel and other with biodiesel, using reg.diesel to get engine warm first...

This just sealed the deal for me. I was thinking about getting an H2 SUT, and now, I'm go for launch. I'll keep my gas-guzzling sporty SUV for quick trips to the store, and the larger gas-guzzler for trips to anywhere I can annoy the most tree-hugging communist assholes I can find in any one place.

Hold On:
If an old 12 mpg diesel hauls four boats, and a 48 mpg hybrid hauls one, who damages the environment more per mile?

The hybrid? Because it is new and the energy, toxins etc in producing it and its batteries usually outweigh driving the old vehicle twice as long?

There's a saying about 'opening your mouth and removing all doubt...' and you've just confirmed that the saying is a truism.

Not to be a Tree-hugging-communist-butt, but I think buying a vehicle to annoy others qualifies as conspicuous consumption.
It also qualifies you in various other categories.

Tilley makes good points re: nastiness of hybrid tech (at this point) which is one reason why we are going diesel.

ps. Dave, get ready to have an envie attack. Jay is having a look at an '87 Merc-Benz Turbo WAGON... may replace 'Ti Bleu soon

One qualifying feature of all "Tree-hugging-communists" is that they have absolutely NO sense of humor and are incapable of laughter and automatically assume that any absurdity is indeed genuine when it contradicts their own views.

You've been trolled, and it worked :P

Sorry...I feel so foolish. And the joke was?? Explain.

since you're such a genius that we lesser beings cannot even perceive your sense of humour, I'd like to pose a question to you.

Why would the 'tree-hugging communists*' lie about the state of things? They don't stand to gain from it unless they've invested in sustainable technology.

I can damn sure understand why the conspicuous consumptors have lied, they have far more to lose. All those profits out the window, retooling for different technologies is expensive, all sorts of ways to lose if the bad news is indeed true...

So, tell me why the 'treehuggers are lying? Huh?

Everyone has an agenda. Forcing social change? Up-ending the "Haves" and "Have-Nots"? Solidifying political power? I could care less what your motives behind your agenda are.

The only thing I care about is the fact that your side is the one sticking its unwelcome finger in my face and trying to make me feel guilty for living the lifestyle I do.

So what do I do? I revel in my perceived obscenity. Its frankly liberating to know that I can bother people so much simply by being who I am.

I'm sure Jesus and ole Joe Pa Stalin are sitting up there sipping Vodka tonics and looking down at us saying "CHRIST if they'd only GET IT!"

Wrong again:
Jesus is saying "Joe, if they'd only get it!"

These are impotent argument points. First of all, everyone has something to lose, and "general record" is too subjective to argue.

I better solution for this argument might be to accept that we all have different points of view and move on.
