Storage lockers are available in the Main building. The rates for the lockable lockers are $50.00 for the small, $125.00 for the medium and $175.00 for the large lockers per year. The large lockers are big enough to store your boom and sails.
Since no trailers are allowed, do most folks carry in their sails? Are ppl allowed to put a sail box on their "plot"?

PTP - just buy a few acres bayfront in your neck of the woods and start one. Should be easy to accomplish, no? Land is pretty cheap down there, right? kidding.
I pay $395 year for a private sailing club. 9 acres, boat on trailer with mast up, three ramps (no beach), full clubhouse facilities (no bar, though). Few cats. www.birminghamsailingclub.org

Yeah, i was going to add that fact <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> pay a million or so for beachfront property and go from there <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />
Trailers are allowed in the Access/Storage area at Sail Sand Point. Since they take more space, the rates, based on the actual square foot used is higher. Storage at the boats is allowed. Some have sailboxes and containers at their boats. The storage lockers are limited, and sell out early.
All boats must be hand launched. The ramps are only 25ft from the boat storage area. You can hand launch from the trailer, Cat Trax, or dolly. There is a block and tackle system to launch the heavier boats.
At the Jericho Boating Center in Vancouver, BC, trailers are not allowed in the storage area. So far, Sail Sand Point has not limited the use of trailers in the storage area. You just pay for the space you use.
We have 2 beaches each of which are at least 2000' long where we can put boats..Right next to a good resort where we use their washrooms and bar.. Cost: $0.00/year
Hokie, I was looking at using that same marina. What do you sail? Do you like the marina? We should get together next year and sail out there. Trey is in Raleigh and sails in Wheeler most of the time but we can get him to sail Jordan with his club, maybe.
I launched from the marina finally, I had been going to Vista Point during the winter because I like having other people out there when its cold. The ramps at the marina seemed nice and there is a small sandy beach right next to them that you can rig the boat on. I liked sailing the north end of the lake too, it is probably not as wide open, but it is longer. I am leaving the mast up now so I will look forward to having very quick setup next time I head out. If you are not keeping your boat there it is $10 to launch during the summer.
I agree. I am paying $55 per month for mast up dry storage, and $35 per year for launch ramp/parking lot permit (unlimited use). Looks like the $695 per year is not a bad deal considering this in on the left coast where everything near the water is real expensive.

I wish we had a nice spot here around Destin FL. to store securely. Miles of beaches and you can hardly get to the water with all the condos and developments.. A few spots to launch around but not many.
I suppose the land is to valuable to let us poor catamaran's sit on the beach somewhere and look pretty.

Muskegon MI has posts on the beach for $200 a summer, less if your a resident. Plenty of old Hobie & NACRA cats. You have a choice of Muskegon Lake or Lake Michigan inside the channel breakwall. Space is limited.
