The major trends in catamaran design seems to firmly establish that the commonly seen swept back bow and fuller section below the water line are here to stay for at least the near future. What design ideas would you like to explore if you were to start with a clean sheet of paper?
I am most interested in your opinion about hull width, the A&O is an unqualified success with very narrow hull width while some of the newer designs in the larger length cats seem to be going wider and wider, I am assuming to get more dynamic lift...do you feel that the F 14 could also benefit from this trend or is the f14 a case of what works with larger hulls does not translate to the dynamics of a shorter platform? Your answer as well as your reasoning on the matter would be greatly appreciated.
