Forum Interruptions

During the next couple of weeks if all goes well I'll be updating the forum software to the latest version and then moving the site to a new server.

I'll do this as smoothly as possible and you may not even notice, however it will involve changing the IP address of the site.

So after the change, depending on your own Internet connection and browser settings you may still see the old site for a while or not be able to reach the Catsailor.com domain at all until the Internet refreshes the cached values.

Don't worry if that happens, it isn't going to disappear, it's just being reborn and birth is hard sometimes.

The changes should be worth it, the latest version is supposed to be mobile friendly which should come as good news.

For a preview of how the forum will operate, here is the UBB forum for their company which I assume is running on the latest version.

OK, remember those interruptions I promised?

They are probably here for some of you.

Also, due to the gap between exporting the old database, doing the work on it to make it compatible with the new server, then actually doing the upgrade to the forum software.

Probably a couple of dozen latest posts have disappeared.

I've got to go to bed, so we'll see how this looks Friday.

Could you recover those missing posts..... They were actually important.

The thread on N15s in particular.... the Regatta shaming thread had a report on the conclusion of all that transpired.
