The Organizing Authority is the Clearwater Community Sailing Center
N O T I C E O F RACE
1.1 The Regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in the Racing Rules of Sailing
(RRS).
1.2 . For the purposes of the definition of rule, the class rules shall be the rules of the
Hobie Wave and Hobie 16 Certain rules may be changed and these changes will appear
in full in the Sailing Instructions.
2. ADVERTISING – Advertising shall be in accordance with ISAF Regulation 20.
Competitors may be required to display graphics on the side of their hulls; these
graphics will be supplied by the OA.
3. ELIGIBILITY & ENTRY Open to all Hobie Wave’s and Hobie 16’s
3.1 CLASS ASSOCIATION MEMBERSHIP
US Sailing recommends that competitors are members of their respective class
associations (i.e., U.S.SAILING ,Hobie Wave Association, and Hobie 16 Class
Association ).
3.2 GREEN REGATTA
This regatta is a Sailors for the Sea "Clean Regatta." As such, all competitors are
encouraged to use nonsingle use water bottles and recycle all appropriate items.
Competitors are reminded of rule 55 which states that competitors "shall not
intentionally put trash in the water."
4. BOATS/MEASUREMENT
4.1 Boat class Hobie Wave with a crew of 1 and Hobie 16 with a crew of 2

4.2 Competitors are encouraged to bring their own boats.
4.3 All boats must comply with class rules.
4.4 Each competitor will be responsible for their boats being in compliance with the class
rules.
5. FEES The entry fee for all classes is $ 75.00 per boat or competitor. The entry fee
includes Lunch and water on the water between race..
6. SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
Friday, 01242014 (6:00 PM 9:00 PM Registration & checkin,
Saturday, 01152014 Skippers meeting at 10:00 AM
First Warning at 11:00 AM (Lunches will
be served between races on the water.
Saturday Evening 17:00 Dinner included with registration.
Extra meals $15.00 at the door.
Sunday, 01262014 10:00 Harbor Start. No races will be
started after 14:00. Awards presentation
as soon after last race as possible.
7. ADVANCE REGISTRATION Competitors shall register in advance by registering
online at clearwatercommunitysailing.org, or completing the Event Registration Form at
www.clearwatercommunitysailing.org and submitting it with proof of US Sailing
membership. Entry deadline is; Midnight 01192014. Late fee of $10.00 applies
thereafter.
8. One race be used as the minimum number of races to constitute a series.
9. SAFETY A US Coast Guard approved personal flotation device shall be worn,
properly fastened, at all times while launching and when sailing boat owned by
Clearwater Community Sailing Center. Failure to comply with this rule may result in
disqualification. A boat retiring from a race shall notify a Race Committee vessel before
leaving the course, or when that is impossible, with the Onshore Checkin Station at
CCSC immediately after arrival ashore.
10. MEDIA RIGHTS By participating in this regatta, a competitor (or parent/guardian if
under age 18) grants to the OA and its sponsors the right in perpetuity to make, use
and show, from time to time at their discretion, any photographs, motion pictures and
live, taped or filmed television and other reproductions of him or her during the period of
the competition without compensation.

11. DISCIPLINE
11.1 All competitors are expected to maintain the highest level of conduct throughout the
entire event. When the Protest Committee, from its own observation or a report
received from any source believes that a competitor may have committed a breach of a
rule, good manners, or sportsmanship, or may have brought the sport into disrepute, it
may call a hearing. After a proper hearing the penalty may range from a reprimand to
dismissal from the regatta and additional action may be taken under RRS 69.
11.2 Hearings will be held generally in accordance with the recommendations of
Appendix M5 of the RRS. The officers for hearing a violation will consist of the Chief
Judge, acting as chairman of the hearing, the Protest Committee and the event chair.
12. PRIZES
Medals will be awarded to competitors placing first through third in all divisions.
