One for Faster Boats, i.e., Spinnakers
Another for Regular Beach Cats, i.e., H16, Wave, etc.

(If you are unable to make the racing on Friday, we will take your average scores for the balance of the regatta and apply those finish position to your Friday finishes)

THURSDAY
* Park opens for Boats and Trailer (If you wish to arrive and sail before Thursday, You must contact Barb Short <305-240-0593> in advance to make arrangements. If you plan on bringing a powerboat, we need to know that in advance as well)
* Thursday afternoon from 1500 to 1700 will be Registration.
FRIDAY
*Final Registration Friday Morning from 0900 to 1000
*Friday Skipper's Meeting at 1100.
*Friday First Flag at 1230 with back-to-back races.
*Beer Party at 1600 after the races daily.
SATURDAY
*Saturday Late Registration 0830 to 0930
*Saturday Late Sailors Skipper Meeting 0930
*Saturday First Flag at 1100 with back-to-back races
SUNDAY
*Sunday, First Flag at 1000 with back-to-back races, no race to start after 1300.
*Trophies will follow the races ASAP.

LAUNCHING
Founders Park Beach. This is a huge beach with lots of rigging and parking room. Launching is into a quiet cove. Sailing will be in crystal clear waters, with good winds and flat seas.

Founders Park (once Plantation Yacht Harbor Resort) is located at MM 87 on the bay side of the islands

ALTERNATIVE WAYS TO GET HERE IF YOU ARE FLYING AND DON'T WANT TO RENT A CAR:
If you are flying into Miami International Airport (which is about an hour from us) and are not renting a car, there are three possible transports:
*Airporter: They pick up three times a day at the airport. Phone number is 305-852-3413 for reservations and pick-up information.
*Upper Keys Transportation: They pick up any time, by reservation, and will also pick up at Fort Lauderdale Airport. Phone is 305-453-0100.
*Greyhound -- they leave the Miami Airport to the Keys four times a day. For schedule and reservations, call 1-800-231-2222.

THE SAILING AREA:
We will be sailing on beautiful Florida Bay, which is a subsection of the Gulf of Mexico. It is a beautiful body of sailing water. We have a vast amount of unobstructed water about 6-8 feet in depth throughout and usually have good wind and flat seas.

WEATHER CONDITIONS:
Air temperature usually is in the 80's in the daytime and around 60 at night. Water temperature should be in the low to mid 70's. Wind is normally 10-15 out of the eastern quadrant. If we get a cold front, the air temperature could be as much as 10-15 degrees colder, and the wind would blow out of the west as much as 10 mph stronger than the norm.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING (AND DO) FOR YOUR BODY:
Wetsuit and/or drysuit and/or spray suit. We don't really expect any serious cold fronts that early in the season, but you never know -- this regatta has had some serious winds in the past. The weather has been weird ever since they invented the bow and arrow. And even in warm weather you are going to get cold when you are wet -- and these cats can be very wet if it is windy and choppy.
Bring a water bottle and a piece of shock cord or something to attach it to the tramp. You are going to be out there for a lot of races, so personally I would take a gallon jug of water like I get at the local supermarket.
A little toolkit is always nice to have on the boat -- small vice grip (or pliers), a Swiss Army knife that has both types of screwdrivers on it, extra ring pins and shackles, small pieces of line for jury-rigging.

*Entry Fee is: $60 for two-handed boats, $55 for single-handed boats
