Congrats to Korte and Brad winning the Racine regatta.

Racine Results

Really a great place to have a regatta. We had some really challenging wind conditions. The wind was in a persistent shift to the right all day. Every time you thought it was done shifting right it would go a little further. It made for a lot of reaching races. Also made for a lot of critical decisions that could make or break a race.

On Sunday the wind was out of the North blowing 20-25. That made for some big waves. The race committee decided that they didn't have the right equipment to get a proper course set so we didn't go out. Probably a good call as there is nothing I hate more than bobbing around in 20-25 with 6 foot rollers waiting on marks that keep drifting and moving.

A couple F18's went out and played on Sunday and it looked like a good time.

I really enjoy the Racine regatta as it's like sailing on a fresh water ocean. The club house is cool with lots of nice facilities. The sandy beach is great too.

Nice to see a good fleet of 22 boats out. Hard to believe that there wasn't a single hobie in the bunch. Only one boat without a Spinnaker not counting the Acat. Times have really changed. But the Yacht club kept referring to us as the "Hobie Course" <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />
