All beachcat sailors are invited to the shore of Lake Erie in Southeast Michigan June 20-21.

The Catamaran Racing Association of Michigan is returning to the North Cape Yacht Club on the West end of Lake Erie for a Regatta this coming weekend. Located South of Detroit between Monroe and Toledo, it is a great spot to race. The yacht club is rolling out the red carpet for us with on-site parking for motorhomes and tent camping, and inviting us to the party for their "sail for hope" keelboat regatta with a Steak Dinner and live band Saturday night.

We are expecting fleets in F18, F17, A Class, and Portsmouth, but any 4 one design boats will generate a fleet for scoring.

We are expecting 8+ F18s, this will be a great warm up for the F18 Northern Area Championships being hosted by CRAM in August.

I've attached the NOR, check out the details, and come out this weekend!

I'm bringing my H-16 (having sold my Tiger last fall - but the new owner is bringing it, too)

I'll be happy to help any H-16's with set-up and tuning at the regatta, so bring out yer 16's and head to North Cape this weekend.

It's about 6 miles north of Toldeo, off I-75.

North Cape Yacht Club is a great place to sail. With both deep water access and a long sandy beach, it works for all sailing and this is a sailing club. Come out and enjoy the Midwest sailing.

See you there,

NCYC has cat history too!

My parents were charter members and in 1962, Rod MacAlpine-Downey and Dick Gibbs brought the Tai 4 and prototype Shark for demos. That was the first time any of us had seen a cat. They did laps around the Thistle and Dragon fleets!

They gave rides to anyone who was brave enough.

That is great, only 3 more boats and we'll have a Hobie 16 division, with trophies. And I can attest that Matt has a wealth of knowledge and is more than willing to help people out.

If you have been thinking about checking out what catamaran racing as all about, this will be great regatta to attend.

Let me know if you have any questions.
