I agree that double kevlar is a waste of money and know real benefit.
The quoted price is based on a mould similar to the faye one.
The builder is Antony Barrett of the Fibreglass factory. They make the Alpha F14. And Antony has worked in the industry for many years working with the likes of Brett Young who has made world class 505's etc..
I don't have a problem getting the first hulls from them as I know their workmanship would be a lot better than the recent new boats I have seen.

Or whoever is in possesion of the truan mould.

It is in the interest of the class to find alternatives to what currently available.
Just like sails. You don't need to pay big bucks from the likes of Goodall, Irwin or whoever to get a quality product.
Please also note that the price is direct from the Fibreglass factory and the only interest I have in this is the growth of the class.
