Something to think about is how to release the halyard that pulls the spin to the tip of the boat.
The setup I saw had a rip cord (very similar to a parachute rip cord) that the skipper would release with a quick pull of a ring. Pretty neat.
Wouter may be correct in thinking that it may not be the best solution for single handing.....
