Maco Man was held in Tampa on Saturday, despite only 4 showing for the event, it was a great sail from Davis Island to Dunedin Causeway. It was a close reach south down the bay with 2 I-20's leading the way in a gusty southeasterly. After sailing under the skway bridge the wind was suprisingly light compared to what we had just sailed down the bay in. As the boats approached Egmont Key, spinnakers went up and it was a run all the way to dunedin causeway. Like a switch, the wind Gods turned it on, and the southerly breeze piped up to a solid 18-20. The 2 I-20's finished only a few minutes apart after nearly 6 hours on the water. Not too far behind came a Hobie 20 and then a Supercat 20 who had a tale to tell of a wild pitchpole off Clearwater Pass. Thanks to those who attended!! We really earned the title of "Macho Men"!!!!
