So that would make the likely classes

Nacra 20
Nacra F17

and the 6.0 class if they can generate a fleet?
and the 5.5 uni's if they can generate a fleet?
and the F18s if they can generate a fleet right after the F18 NA's? (please don't pull a stunt like the Tiger's at St Francis YC)

I have often wondered why these "vintage" classes don't choose a popular three day regatta instead of the week long Performance event for a NA's.

For example...
Spring Fever, and Cat Fight would be perfect. ... yes... you start with other similar boats... (eg Hobie 20's and Nacra 6.0's) but this should not be a big deal... declare this event "the nationals" and then announce the schedule well ahead of time.

The advantage of this format is... Perhaps you only get 5 Nacra 6.0's at the "3 day nationals in Georgia".... At least you will be racing against a larger fleet of sloop boats and this would be fun and worth the trip. Not to mention... the event comes with a big party.

If you rotated the title from Wisconson to Georgia year by year... A large part of the country could plan on attending when it comes to your region. Heck... the New England fleet could get things organized and use the three Day Newport Regatta in RI in the Summer as a designated nationals and cover a third part of the country.

Why pretend that you will get a 6.0 fleet if there really isn't the interest at the Performance run Nationals.

Now... if the sailors simply want some one else at Performance to do this... They probably should not bitch about the schedule, location, etc etc.
