spares were many, including the items you listed, we also had a spare mast, extra sails(thanks Buckwheat for the ride home to Tybee!), and extra line. We came off a wave on day 4 and landed nose down in the back of the next wave which snapped our spin pole and shredded a brand new spin. We then shrimped it for awhile as we watched the mast bend in a funny way. Jake then cut the halyard and it all floated free behind the boat and we rode a very slow reach home. So we had to borrow a spare halyard from Windy Hill(JD Solomon and Frank Moore-new Team Seacats member).
That week we worked on rudder system(day 1), dagger wells(pre start), new spin/halyard/tack(day 4), a compression fracture in the port hull from hitting the beach fast and hard, and put some Amsteel Blue line around our hound, as it looked iffy. We bought a new hound, but were scared to replace it at that time. The eyehole was bent and had been rewelded at some time, but we were just scared of the weld and its former abuse. 1 thing we found was amzing was trying to keep the spin in the tramp launched spin bag which was built into the tramp. It was tight as hell, and had 2 buckles on port and starboard side to "hold" the spin in, but the tight reaches seemed to wash it out over and over again. I remeber multiples times Jake tying the spin(yes the spin itself) to one of the buckles to keep it from dragging behind the boat. Its sucked for him to come off the wire to mess with that kind of stuff, but thats the kind of thing you just cant anticipate. I think Chris and Nate had a webpage once with all the spares and preparation they had for running this race. We reffered to it alot that year.
Go Blue! And Trey and Alan too, and JC and Kenny, man there are just too many friends to pull for....

The men were amazed, and said, "What kind of a man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey Him?" Matthew 8:27
