Honestly, I'm not sold on it...granted, I haven't been the bastard sawing on it in a while...but still.
With the 8:1, you can let an arm's length out and it accomplishes a lot of recovery. With the 10:1, we found that you had to let more than that out leaving yourself having to double hand it back it after a big ease. I'm getting back on the front of an I20 later this year and plan on trying both to really figure it out...but I'm still leaning to the 8:1 and a strong crew for now.
