2 Weeks ago the Swiss A cat fleet was racing in Morges on Lake Geneva where a few of these cats http://www.ventilo.ch/28M2.html have there homebase. They (the M2's)were having a regatta on Lake Neuchatel about 60 Km away and the ballache factor of derigging, transport, rerigging etc is a big one for such a short distance. While we we rigging our A's a relatively small helicopter http://www.heliweb.ch/photos/klein/9000632.jpg was shuttling back and forth with the boats. It is bizarre to watch, the helicopter hovers over the cat which is still at its mooring and 30 seconds later it flies off with a 28ft cat dangling fully rigged below, its straight out of a Bond story. Very cool to watch. Video here under images http://www.am2.org/ Those M2 are apparently seriously very damn fast in under 10 knots of breeze.
German A Nationals are next week, 65 entries sofar and climbing, should be good.
