The tone of your post suggested the P15 was the better boat I thought but you said P16????.
My Portsmouth data and spinnaker idea were a simple exercise on how the P15 might fit into an open fleet racing situation. Has anyone ever seen a P15 with spinnaker?
My choice of the
P16 was that its a better boat to have a fun time on for a rookie. It holds one or two great, will cruise with 4 aboard, lots of boats around, lots of parts, and can be a B fleet race winnner if sailed well. And you get all of that for about $1000.
As to Wouter comment about a yardstick problem, he's got that right. Portsmouth works pretty well boat vs boat but when you do too much with modifications it gets strange sometimes.
