Here is my point made as succinctly as possible:



Is there soft goods or other sailing gear that is of no use to you that others may be willing to purchase? If not, that is fine and we can all contact our favorite dealer and buy the stuff new. My inquiry was simply to determine whether it was worth anyone's time to seek out high quality preowned gear or just get new gear. I personally have no interest in going to garage sales to find this stuff but I do have an interest in finding used equipment over the Internet (heck, that is how I found my boat, and my last car, and my last vacation condo…). As stated by Jon Robertson (jonr), could these transactions be facilitated by this website.
