Assuming you are making a quick release tramp bag to hold weight (so that you can move it from boat to boat), would not the optimal solution be to have half the weight at the main beam on the outer edge of the tramp??? I'd go there or all the weight at the base of the mast.

EDIT: Actually, the F18 rules stipulate where crew corrector weight should be placed. Is that something to consider for the AC? I didn't mean to make this more difficult.
