Sorry azcat that was just for stowage I missread your post. I made my own for a stingray and it didn't need to be stabilized for and aft in fact I could set my stopper knot, lean out and just stand on the centreboard, once your weight is out the pole will be centred. Once the boat is comming up and you let go of the pole the bungee in my earlier post pulls it to the rear beam, you then jump on the boat reach over the main beam release the stopper knot and away you go. The pole never touches the hull. As for photo's Ricks power righting on this website has puuurfect photo's. Dont underestimate the strain on your fitting that attatches your pole to the main beam, if you get it wrong and that breaks you get a beautiful hole through your tramp and will be left bobbing around
