I just take the parting fence off and then flip the Plug ( A-cat Plug in my case) and the half mold over and support them. I don't separate the plug from the mold untill the second half mold is made.

Me either - i don't separate the plug from the mold until both halves are made.
Yes, it's a 1 meter r/c boat (US 1 Meter)...sails like a dream! it has a 4lb lead bulb on a 14 inch carbon strut/foil...total weight just under 6lbs. The next several will be slightly lighter overall (same bulb).
