There is a Senate Bill 2766 in the Environment and Public Works Committee in Washington that has to be submitted to the full Senate for vote with the approval of the House. This bill clarifies the act and includes exemptions for recreational boaters. There are not enough Senators on board to vote the bill out of committee. Neither of the South Carolina Senators are involved. If Bill 2766 is not out of the Committee and voted on by September 31, the Act of 2007 will be in effect Oct. 1, 2008. If we know any Senators we should contact them. You probably knew all of this already, but I thought I would mention it as it will effect our members. Jim Cuddy
