To "install," you just slide the boards into the slots in the hulls once you're in deep-enough water. To beach in no-surf, flat conditions, people just pull them high enough to have the tips above the bottom of the hull. In surf, it is better to pull them out and slide them under the straps on the trampoline to prevent them slipping back down.
