Take the time to set the lines up correctly and practice a few times. You'll find this works great and adds about 7 minutes to your mast-up time, all solo.

However, the P16 mast is light. Just push it up. Do a search on this topic and read the posts about towing your boat sterns first. This makes solo-stepping very easy. I've got some photos if you'd like.
