Rick and Mary cover this in Catamaran Racing for the 90's - look at chapter 7 the first couple of paragraphs get into pretty good.
Also, there is a section on your Prindle 19 by Randy Smyth. I have used some of these setting for the 18-2 and they seem to work for me too.
