Any good nonstretch or low stretch is fine for tramp lacing.

For any loaded handheld line you want something soft or fuzzy covered like polyester braid with a spun cover. If money is not critical the best I've used is maffoli swift cord. Got in on spin sheets and the main sheet my jib is self tacking and so crew doesn't need to handle it much. Got 1/4" ultraline on that.
