If you get into challenging backcountry terrain, snowboards rule in all conditions except for ice/glaciated slopes. I guess you dont get much of that in England or the Netherlands, but up here it is quite common.

PS: Started my skiing/snowboarding season last weekend with 600 heightmeters backcountry slopes.
