Hi everyone,

Rolf and I have been working on a new ideea for the F16 box rule drawing. It was posted for a preview on the class forum first. I always thought that a high performance catamaran class like the F16 should present itself in a high performance manner.

The idea behind the 3D box rule is that it should be much more clear than the current one, it should not be limited be resolution, ppl would be able to orbit around it and zoom in/out/pan -towards the points of interest -ex: mastfoot area.

The 3D box rule window can be embedded in the class's webpage, or it can be standalone. We would like to hear opinions about it and if it may be usable for the class.

So...behold - the 3D box rule :

There's already a good suggestion to clear the model of unusefull stuff by removing the words "Max" and "Area" from the sail area text, this will be ready in the next upgrade.

Also, there's one more thing, kept forgetting about it. The PDF flyer on the webpage has the weight wrong for the 1up/2up config.

Orbit= click&hold left mouse button and drag mouse around
Pan=keep pressed "space" and left mouse button and drag mouse around (first depress mouse button to hold view)
Zoom=keep "Z" and left mouse button pressed and drag mouse up& down (first depress mouse button to hold view)
Options= press right mouse button inside window and options will scroll down - use "antialiasing on stop" if orbiting is slow.
Current rendered window is 900x900 pixels.

Regards,

Florin
